How to License Veeam Backup and Replication Server

This article explains how to obtain and license a Veeam Backup and Replication server through VSPC.

  1. Log into the Veeam Service Provider Console
  2. Click on Configuration in the top right corner.
  3. Click on Catalog in the left navigation.


  4. Find and click on the VCSP Pulse Portal tile.



  5. Click on License Keys in the left navigation.
  6. Click on New License.
  7. In the New License Key window License Info section, provide the following information.
    1. Contract - Leave as the selection.
    2. Product - Select the Product that the customer desires.
    3. Expiration date - Leave the expiration date as is. This date is Virtual Systems Veeam Rental date and NOT the end date for the customer license. The date on the license should auto update in annual increments. A Veeam rental license can be revoked at any time even with a longer expiration date.
    4. Description - Enter the Customer's Company Name
    5. Click Next.
  8. In the New License Key window Workloads section, click Add.
  9. In the Workload type drop down list, select what the customer needs to protect and provide the Count of those workloads. Note that up to 20% over the workload count is acceptable. You will be billed for this count if reporting is not enabled through Cloud Connect. Click OK.
  10. After you've assigned all the licenses necessary for the tenant, click Next.


  11. In the New License Key window Summary section, review the page for accuracy > click Finish.
  12. Now, the new license will show in the list. Select the new license > click License Actions > click Download. 


  13. The license file will download to your computer. 

  14. To install the Veeam license on the server, please follow the steps for the type:
